He was born on 2 Augustus 2007, in the St. Lucas Andreas Hospital om Amsterdam, at 16:10 hrs. He weighed 3680 grams!

Back from check up

Allright keeping you all posted.
We just returned from the Sint Lucas Andreas hospital. Rena was checked extensively and everything looked good and healthy on the outside. The cardiology test of the baby and Rena's womb looked good. When we met the geneacologist afterward he explained that generally the babies are born within one week afterwards. Then they performed a scan of the womb. The geneacologist then found that there was too little fluid present inside the womb. This is a sign that the placenta is getting exhausted. Within two to three days that would be threatening for the baby. The dokter then decided to stimulate the contractions as soon as possible. Rena was stripped again by the gyneacologist. This was quite hurtful for her. The gyneacologist said that perhaps this action would ripen the mouth of the womb. At that moment such was not yet the case.
Well, we were then allowed to go home and had to get everything ready, because tomorrow morning we would have to call the hospital at 06:15 hrs to confirm Rena's coming, because we had to report at the hospital at 07:00 hrs. We had to call first to check whether a bed would be available, this in case another emergency took priority and no bed would be available.
According to the gyneacologist they would start inducing the contractions immediately, unless the mout of the womb was not yet ripe enough. If all goes well then the baby will be born by tomorrow evening.
However, if the mouth of the womb was not yet ripe, then they would have to apply substances to ensure ripenss. This takes 24 hours. In that case the baby will be born on Friday.
That is the status at this momen, we'll keep you all posted. Keep your fingers crossed for us.

Latest news

Just the latest developments regarding Junior. Up until this moment the two 'stripping' sessions did not yield any result and they made an appointment for us with the emergency clinic of Sint Lucas Andreas Hospital with the gyneacologist there.
Tomorrow, Monday, afternoon at 12:45hrs we have to report there for further check ups and monitoring. Rena and I are now really getting pretty impatient.
